Using clamxav update#
Now you can proceed to update your virus definition database by the following terminal command: sudo freshclam To do this, type in the following command: sudo systemctl stop clamav-freshclam To update the definitions, you will need your system to be connected to the Internet using the (freshclam) terminal command.įirstly, you need to stop the (clamav-freshclam)service before you can update. With ClamAV installed, update your ClamAV database before using the virus scanner (clamscan). Now that you have installed ClamAV, you can proceed to update the virus database.
Using clamxav install#

It is a False Positive which I personally reported those responsible for that signature on Friday and am still waiting for a response. 
This would not be an issue with the current version of ClamXAV.
